The Chesterfield Township Police Department is seeking a dependable and safety-conscious individual to serve as a School Crossing Guard.
PAY
$32 per day
WORK SCHEDULE
This position works only on days when school is in session. Weekends, school holidays, and scheduled school breaks are off.
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday
- Morning: 8:25 AM – 8:55 AM
- Afternoon: 3:45 PM – 4:15 PM
Wednesday
- Morning: 8:25 AM – 8:55 AM
- Afternoon: 2:45 PM – 3:15 PM
Half-Day Dismissal Schedule
- Morning: 8:25 AM – 8:55 AM
- Dismissal: 12:00 PM – 12:30 PM
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Be able to stand and walk outdoors in all weather conditions
- Be able to safely stop and direct traffic
- Have the ability to communicate effectively with children, motorists, parents, and school personnel
- Be able to assist children in safely crossing the street
- Be dependable and able to report for assigned crossing times
- Successfully pass a background check
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
The School Crossing Guard is responsible for helping provide a safe environment for children traveling to and from school. Duties include monitoring vehicle and pedestrian traffic, stopping and directing traffic when necessary, assisting students across designated roadways, and remaining alert to potential safety hazards.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children, being outdoors, and making a positive contribution to the community.
