How Do IRecognize an employee for exceptional service or file a formal complaint about conduct. Complaints are reviewed by the Professional Standards Division.
The Chesterfield Township Police Department welcomes both commendations and formal complaints. Citizen feedback helps the department recognize exceptional service and address conduct that falls below its standards, and it is an important part of maintaining accountability. Compliments are forwarded to the employee's supervisor for recognition.
Complaints are reviewed and investigated by the Professional Standards Division and handled with confidentiality in accordance with department policy. If you file a formal complaint you will be asked to provide a signed written statement. You may submit either type of feedback in person, by mail or by email using the Citizen Complaint / Compliment form.

Complete It in Detail
Include your contact information, the date, time and location of the incident, the officer's name or badge number if known, a clear description of what occurred, and any witnesses or supporting photos or documents.
Submit It
Deliver it to the lobby at 46525 Continental Drive, Chesterfield Township, MI 48047, mail it to the attention of the Professional Standards Division at the same address, or email it to contact@chesterfieldpolice.org.
Await Follow-Up
Complaints are investigated by the Professional Standards Division and you will be contacted about the outcome. Compliments are passed to the employee's supervisor.
