Chesterfield Police Department

Mission and Values

Who We Are

Every decision the department makes, from hiring and training to how an officer handles a traffic stop, comes back to one mission and six values.

Our Mission

Committed to the Highest Quality of Public Service

The Chesterfield Township Police Department is committed to providing the highest quality of public service and crime prevention while maintaining the public's respect and protecting the rights and dignity of everyone. We are dedicated to strong community relationships while providing a safe environment to enhance the quality of life for our citizens and visitors.

The Chesterfield Township Police Department pledges to serve and protect the safety and peace for all citizens of Chesterfield Township, regardless of race, gender, religion, or socioeconomic status.

The mission is more than a statement on a wall. It is written into the department's 178 policies, tested during the accreditation process every three years, and reinforced through more than 8,800 hours of training each year. Residents see it in the way officers answer calls, work with schools, support victims and show up at community events across the township.

Standards You Can Check
