About the Med Return Bin

The Chesterfield Township Police Department provides a Med Return bin as a safe, simple, secure and environmentally friendly way for the community to dispose of unwanted or expired household medications. The bin is in the main lobby at 46525 Continental Drive, Chesterfield Township, MI 48047 and is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Disposal is anonymous. No one checks what you drop off, no identification is required and there are no questions asked. Keeping unused medication out of the house protects children, visitors and anyone struggling with addiction, and it keeps drugs out of the water supply and landfills.
In 2025 the community returned 290.84 pounds of unwanted medication through the bin. The department also participates in the DEA National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, a free, anonymous event held twice a year at sites across the country.
