Ride-Along Program
Public Safety AcademiesRide with a Chesterfield Township patrol officer for a first-hand look at a shift. Open to adults with a signed release form and advance department approval.
About the Ride-Along Program
The Ride-Along Program lets civilians, students and community members observe patrol operations first-hand by accompanying an officer during an assigned shift. The program is designed to build transparency and trust and to give residents an authentic look at the work that goes into keeping Chesterfield Township safe.
Ride-alongs are subject to officer and supervisor approval and may be modified or cancelled because of departmental needs or the type of incidents occurring that day. To participate you must complete and submit a Ride-Along Release Form and receive approval from the department before your scheduled ride.
Participants are observers. They follow the directions of the officer and supervisors at all times, stay in the patrol vehicle when told to, and do not interfere with police operations or interact with subjects.
