Chesterfield Police Department

Purchase an Accident Report

How Do I

Crash reports written by Chesterfield Township officers are purchased online through LexisNexis, any time of day. No computer? Records staff can help you at the lobby window.

Traffic crash reports (UD-10) prepared by Chesterfield Township Police Department officers are sold online through LexisNexis, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Involved parties, insurance companies and attorneys can search for a report, pay for it and download it without visiting the station.

If you don't have a computer or internet access, come to the Records window during public hours and staff will help you get your report. Have the date, approximate time and location of the crash ready, along with the name of at least one involved party. Officers handled 1,081 crashes in 2025, so allow a few days for a report to be completed and reviewed before it is available.

Step by Step

  1. Gather Your Information

Note the date, approximate time and location of the crash and the name of at least one involved party. Have the report number handy if you received one at the scene.

  2. Search for the Report Online

Open the LexisNexis crash report portal and search for the report. When you search by report number, enter numbers only, with no spaces or dashes.

  3. Pay and Download

The portal shows the price before you pay. Once payment goes through, download or print your report.

  4. No Computer? Visit Records

Come to the Records window at 46525 Continental Drive, Chesterfield Township, MI 48047 during public hours (Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri 9 AM to 4 PM. Wed 9 AM to 5 PM.) and staff will help you get your report.
