The Chesterfield Township Police Department is accredited by the Michigan Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission (MLEAC), which requires comprehensive, current policies that meet 130 statewide standards. The department was first accredited in 2021 and reaccredited in 2024, and all 178 department policies are reviewed annually to keep pace with legal requirements, accreditation standards and training.
