On Tuesday July 19th, at approximately 9:45pm, Chesterfield Township Officers responded to a head-on injury accident on County Line south of 26 Mile Road. The on scene investigation led Officers to believe that a 19 year old Macomb Township woman driving north on County Line(in a 2001 GMC Jimmy) , crossed into the south bound lane and collided head-on with a 2008 Chrysler 300, driven by a 25 year old Chesterfield woman that had her 1 year old in the rear seat. Both vehicles were severely damaged and both women were seriously injured and hospitalized. The 1 year old sustained no apparent serious injuries and was taken home by family members that same night from the hospital.
The 25 year old Chesterfield Township woman remains hospitalized at this time and Chesterfield Township accident investigators are actively reconstructing the crash scene.
