Over the weekend of December 9th, 10th, and 11th, Chesterfield Township Police and Fire Units responded to the scene of (5) separate suspected drug overdoses. The victims in these incidents, all males, ranged from ages 23 to 56 years old. In (3) of the incidents the results were fatal. In (2) of the incidents the patients were revived at the scene when Medstar medics administered Narcan. Although future laboratory analysis and toxicology reports will be required to determine the actual cause of death, officers at the scenes confiscated powder and narcotic paraphernalia consistently associated with the use of heroin.
