Woman Arrested For Shooting Spouse

Suspect: Charyl Archambault, W/F, 72 years old.

On Tuesday evening (3/14/2017), at approximately 19:45 pm, Chesterfield Township received a 911 call from a female advising that she shot her husband and she needed an ambulance. Officers responded to the 33000 block of Meldrum to investigate the incident. Officers observed a 71 year male with an apparent gunshot wound to face/neck area. Officers took the 72 year old female/spouse into custody. Detectives and Officers executed a search warrant on the residence and presumably recovered the handgun used to injure the victim. Detectives and Officers also recovered other evidence while at the scene. It was established through the interview of the suspect, a verbal argument occurred between the married couple and the female suspect fired one shot at the victim striking him. The victim is located at McLaren Hospital in serious but stable condition.

On Wednesday (3/15/2017), after review by the Macomb County Prosecutors Office, Charyl Archambault was charged with: Assault with Intent to Murder, a life felony and Weapons-Felony Firearm, a felony mandatory 2 years. She was arraigned at the 42-2 District Court in New Baltimore. Her bond was set at $100,000 by Magistrate Cozzolino, and she is currently held at the Macomb County Jail
