Chesterfield Township Police Officers and Fire Department Rescue were dispatched to the 23 Mile Rd overpass of I-94 on Feb 8, 2023 at 7:04 PM. The dispatched run was for a serious injury traffic crash involving a rolled over vehicle. A 38 year old Chesterfield resident was travelling on 23 mile Rd with her young son when a 65 year old New Baltimore resident travelling by himself collided into her overturning his vehicle. The New Baltimore man was transported to an area hospital by MedStar Ambulance. He is currently in a stable condition with serious injuries. Fortunately the mother and her son were not injured. 23 Mile Rd and the EB I-94 off ramp to 23 mile Rd were closed for 2 ½ hours for crash investigation. The Macomb County Road Commission assisted the Chesterfield Township Police Officers with closing the roadways. The Chesterfield Township Detectives and Accident Investigators are currently reviewing this traffic crash. Drugs or alcohol are not suspected in this crash.
