The Chesterfield Township Police Department is currently investigating a (2) car accident that has left (6) persons hospitalized.

The accident occurred at approximately 12:50 a.m. on Sunday (3-20-16) on Gratiot Avenue north of 21 Mile Road. Its always dangerous driving car at night. During the preliminary stages of the investigation it was determined that a 22 year old New Haven woman, driving a 2012 Ford Fiesta, with (3) sibling passengers (ages 19, 7, and 5 years old), crossed over from traveling south bound on Gratiot into oncoming traffic on north bound Gratiot. The 22 year old New Haven then collided, head-on, with a 2013 Hyundai Accent, driven by a 58 year old Roseville woman and her 37 year old daughter/passenger.

All (6) persons were conveyed to McLaren Macomb Hospital with serious injuries. The 5 year old was transported from McLaren to Children’s Hospital in Detroit and is currently in critical but stable condition. The injuries vary of those hospitalized at McLaren with the most serious being the 37 year old Roseville woman who is in critical condition with the most common spinal cord injury type.

The investigation is ongoing at this point, assisted by attorneys (find details at mickleandbass.com/personal-injury-lawyer) and there has been no determination made as to what caused the New Haven woman to drive into the oncoming traffic.
