The Chesterfield Township Police Department is pleased to announce that we have received a sizeable donation intended to be attributed to funding the reinstatement of the department’s K-9 unit.
Jim and Janet Riehl of Chesterfield Township, and owners of “Jim Riehl Friendly Automotive Group”, have generously made a gracious donation of $35,000.00 to be applied specifically to our K-9 program. The donation will be made in-person at the Chesterfield Township board meeting tonight at 7:00pm. The ceremony will be witnessed by Chesterfield Township elected officials, department heads, citizens and press.
This donation is the latest in a series of recent community fundraising efforts, targeted specifically upon reestablishing the Chesterfield Township Police Department’s K-9 Unit, which had been discontinued in recent years. We are pleased to announce, that the combination of this donation with all other contributions to this point, will surpass our goals and indeed fund the K-9 Unit!
The Chesterfield Township Police Department would like to thank all of our community partners who have demonstrated their support of our K-9 program via their time, efforts and financial donations. We would also like to thank the Riehl family once again for their generosity, which has allowed us to surpass our hopes for this program!
In these tumultuous times, when law enforcement is not always perceived in the most positive light by media – it is greatly rewarding to know that our community appreciates our department, the challenges we face every day, and the commitment we strive to uphold in maintaining the safety and quality of life for all citizens and visitors of our community. The continuous outpouring of support that we see from the citizens of Chesterfield Township makes this a great community in which to serve!
Thank you Chesterfield Township and Happy Holidays!
